Fashion weeks are something more than just an opportunity to get acquainted with new collections, it is also an inexhaustible source of inspiration for streetstyle looks. The Vremena Goda Galleries team looked through the photo chronicle of the SS'22 season shows in London and selected seven shoe trends to be incorporated into the wardrobe right now.
Puffy boots
Today's postmodern fashion makes appropriate and even favorable the fashion items that used to be unacceptable a few years ago. In the wake of the popularity of apre-ski and outdoor aesthetics, padded boots made of waterproof materials have become one of the main fall and winter must-haves. Practical puffy boots are now being worn not only for long walks or trips to the countryside, but for Fashion Week as well. We do support this trend, since padded boots are really great for the Russian weather.
Platform shoes
The trend for a massive platform is a sequel on the popularity of the '90s and '00s style. Following the inspiration of streetstyle stars, we advise you to bet on boots with tight tops or ankle boots with a stable square heel. Platform shoes will add inches to your height as well as stretch your silhouette, especially when styled with lengthened pants or straight jeans. In such style of footwear neither rain nor puddles will be a big deal for you.
Cowboy boots
Every year, fashion influencers together with designers never fail to say “I love you” to Cowboy boots. So, it’s fair to say Cowboy boots have already moved from a trend to a new classic and a wardrobe basics category. Our favorite is the laconic Saint Laurent style or the western pair with carvings, beveled heels and buckles. Wearing Cossacks is recommended in the way streetstyle chronicles heroines do, combining them with voluminous leather biker jackets and camisoles.
Jockey boots
These boots are distinguished by knee-height, comfortable low heels and a minimum of decor. In winter, a pair of these boots can be mixed and matched with leather pants or over-the-knee Bermuda shorts, as attendants of London Fashion Week do. Derby aesthetics will be supported by a scarf tied in a casual knot. By the way, even princess Diana, a recognised fashion icon, used to adore jockey boots.
Colored sneakers
Finding something more comfortable and versatile than sneakers will be hard. In the wake of the trend for comfort, such shoes are becoming a must-have item for everyone who sticks to fashion. Judging by the street style chronicles, many fashion influencers opt for sneakers for a chic marathon on the streets of London. This season, we advise you to focus not only on basic models, but on colored ones made in sports or hiking aesthetics.
Military boots
The rough boots, in both the lace-up and the chelsea versions, remain one of the most popular footwear for the fall-winter season. Street style stars do their best to prove it: army-style boots are perfectly combined not only with the usual denim, but with romantic dresses as well. Not to get cold, complement the look with a quilted oversized jacket, a long coat or a fur coat made of faux fur.
Chunky sole loafers
The trend for loafers has been with us for years and, it seems, is not going to drop out. And we don't mind it: such shoes mix and match with different styles, thet are also perfect for the fall. The main styling trick is to combine chunky loafers with white, bright solid or printed socks. This technique is suitable both for a look with jeans, classic pants as well as mini and midi-length skirts.
