From maxi skirts to tie-and-dye print jackets: the most tasteful denim of summer 2020

It is hard to come up with a more all-purpose kind of clothes than jeans: if you love convenience - choose denim, appreciate the practical aspect - choose denim, care of being trendy - choose denim again. The current generation simply cannot imagine their life without this item of clothing, although classic jeans, which we’ve got used to wearing, were patented just 150 years ago. It was the native of Bavaria, Levi Strauss, who became a U.S. citizen. He managed to combine durable cloth, universal colour and casual style in one piece of clothing.

For many years, jeans were considered to be the clothes of workers, miners and cowboys. However, over time everyone including kings and presidents got to fall in love with them. Now the question if jeans are going to be in trend this year is not on agenda any longer. What does matter is what kind of models, colours and cutouts will be at the peak of popularity. Fashion Weeks, where the world's leading brands presented collections for the spring-summer season, specified at least 5 jeans trends that are worth taking note when shopping at the Vremena Goda Galleries.

Jeans, out of the ordinary

Since the weather in Moscow has much to offer in terms of surprises, and this summer might be chilly enough, this season one just can’t do without a pair of jeans. It’s worth choosing non-trivial options – whether models with holes on the knees, torn along the edges, with an explicit front stitch or with an asymmetric fastener. Such models are widely distributed, for example, by Agolde and Maison Margiela, represented in the TOPSTYLE.

Maxi skirts

Perhaps one of the most striking trends of the season is maxi skirts made of denim. On the runway, such models have been introduced by Dior with a wrap skirt and a jute belt, Stella McCartney, which showed both strict and attractive model with a slit, Alexander Wang, having a bet on asymmetry.

Mimi shorts

Another vivid seasonal trend in contrast to maxi skirts is mini-shorts. They tend to refashion every summer, but still stay relevant. Girls' loyalty to this item of clothing is quite justified: the shorts are both comfortable and seductive. In addition, they perfectly motivate to watch the figure. This season, when choosing shorts, you’ve got to stick to the same rule as with jeans - choose a model to your liking and with a crazy detail whether in a cutout, colour or decor.

Gradient and tie-and-dye

Rather than perfectly straight forms, the sort of iridescent gradient and blurry blots are receiving the first priority. It’s about the prints made by using the so-called tie-and-dye technique. And if in the 70s hippies who were popularizing this technique opted for ultra-bright colours, this season it is worth getting a good look at more restrained ones.

Denim total look

Do you love denim with all your soul? Indulge yourself! Wear denim from head to toe like the models at Chanel and Balmain shows. Fashion stylists recommend creating denim total looks using straight or bell-bottomed trousers as well as voluminous men's garment jackets worn on a naked body.
