Chanel unveils a new cruise collection 2021/22. Virginie Viard was inspired by the work of the artist Jean Cocteau, including his experimental film "The Testament of Orpheus", as well as the letters he wrote to his close friend, Coco Chanel.
The line is characterized by the aesthetics of the film: black and white images mixed with bright vibrant looks. In addition, some of the fashion items are decorated with floral appliqués and embroideries depicting doves, which were often painted by Jean Cocteau. Also, the collection includes references to the 70s: ultra-mini, mesh, fringe, feathers and maxi-length.
