What is this?

The value of all goods includes value added tax (VAT). Non-residents of the country, when exporting goods, have the right to return the tax on purchased items. This system is called Tax Free and is valid all over the world.

For who?

Tax Free in Russia can be used by those who don’t hold nationality within the Eurasian Economic Union. In other words, those who aren’t residents of: Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan. In order to claim tax free, you must leave the country within 3 months of your purchase.

How does it work?

Tax Free applies to the purchase of clothing, footwear, perfumery, cosmetics, household goods, jewelry and electronic equipment.

PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINING

To obtain Tax Free you need a passport, sales receipt and a signed copy of the application. It is impossible to refund VAT without them.
Prior to departure, all goods must be labeled and kept in their original package.
Tax Free for goods can be issued only on the day of purchase and personally by the buyer.

HOW TO GET?

To obtain all necessary documents and get VAT refund on purchases, you need:

Make a purchase from 10,000 rubles in one day and in one store with the Tax Free logo. Further, all sales receipts from purchases are summed up.
Receive a special Tax Free application, which must be completed and certified by the store staff. A passport to fill out the application is required.
To certify the Tax Free application upon departure at the customs control before checking in.
After all the procedures are done, contact the Global Blue operator and provide all documents - a passport, sales receipts and an application for Tax Free, certified by the customs control. The operator will refund the tax in a similar way: if you paid in cash when making purchases, it will be refunded at the time of submitting, if you paid by card - within 5 days.
