The new Dior Book Tote is made of calfskin leather with openwork and floral appliqued ornaments. It was a trip to Argentina that inspired Grazia Chiuri to create this bag.
The leatherworking technique is based on the traditions of local craftsmen who created personalised saddles with carvings.
The process of making a new Dior Book Tote takes 12-16 hours. First, a leather blank is cut on a laser for a few hours. Next comes the precise hand finishing to create a unique floral pattern. Then several layers of patina are applied to make the material obtain a dark shade of brown. The final stage is the creation of three-dimensional leather roses.
The Dior Book Tote calfskin bag is a part of the Cruise 2021 collection and now it’s available at the brand's boutique in the Vremena Goda Galleries.
